Stories & Tributes

My husband, Steve, battled pancreatic cancer for almost two years, bravely and confidently, until the cancer took control. When he arrived at Quiet Oaks one Thursday night in June, he had taken a turn for the worse. From the time we arrived at Quiet Oaks, until his passing 5 days later, he was treated with care and respect. My children and I spent the days and nights there, to be with him, and we too were treated very well. Thank you so much for the amazing care he received during his last days, and for all the kindness shown to our family by the entire staff at Quiet Oaks.

Sincerely,

Heidi Stiegel

We know we made the right choice when we picked Quiet Oaks for our dad's palliative care. We will forever be comforted by our choice of Quiet Oaks.

Our dad was cared for in such a respectful, dignified manner. He was cleaned, shaved, dressed in such "normal" looking shirts, repositioned frequently, pain free and given any food item he requested. We, as his family were also treated with such respect. We were welcomed into your "home" and treated as guests. All of the staff and volunteers that we encountered at Quiet Oaks went out of their way to make our visit as stress free and comfortable as possible.

We were blessed with time to just "love and be with our dad" as he traveled to a world where our mother waited for him, and his Father had "prepared a place" for him.

Words cannot begin to express our gratitude for all you did. We are spreading the word about Quiet Oaks to all we meet, using words like "wonderful, amazing, beautiful, caring, helpful, comforting, great cookies (aka vitamins), peaceful and excellent care"!

We all have pictures of Quiet Oaks forever imbedded in our minds. They are pictures of angels without visible wings; the staff and volunteers that cared for our father as he finished his earthly journey. We thank you for all you did!
